Recover. Rehabilitate. Regain.
Our in-house physical, occupational, and speech therapists have over 50 combined years of geriatric rehabilitation experience. They oversee individualized programs designed to restore functioning and engagement. Therapy activities and treatments are provided by friendly and positive staff who believe patients should achieve the highest level of independence and functioning of which they are capable.
The Most Advanced Equipment and Technology
At Westmoreland, our therapists are up-to-date on the latest techniques in therapy and use such state-of-the-art equipment as:
- Non-invasive neuromuscular stimulation, ultrasound, and electromagnetic modalities from Accelerated Care Plus (ACP). These promote healing and recovery of muscle strength while reducing pain and swelling.
- Electrically powered and adjustable treadmills, parallel bars, hi-low therapy platforms, and Nu-Steps recumbent “cycles”. These allow patients–particularly those suffering from lack of strength or coordination, partial paralysis, and respiratory or cardiac limitations–to begin therapeutic exercise sooner.
- A patio “texture garden” which helps patients overcome the challenges of moving about on different kinds of surfaces
- Life skills re-training using a dedicated Therapy kitchen, laundry, and full bath to help prepare patients to resume activities of home living.
